A Little Party, Never Killed Nobody!? For this exclusive VIP Reception for a group of top executive leaders, the team at Elite took inspiration from The Roaring Twenties — the era of flowing champagne, glamorous flapper girls dancing, and Art Deco design!
Using the venue’s unique historical history as inspiration, Elite designed a reception and dinner for an exclusive group of guests – executive leaders from all over the world invited to share a memorable experience in The Yost Theatre.
The venue, which opened in the early 1900s, flourished in it’s prime – hosting legendary acts such as “The Three Stooges”, “Sonny & Cher”, and “Ike & Tina Turner”. In addition to musical and stage performances, the theatre housed vaudeville, silent films, and films – a nod Elite used in vintage 1920s posters used in the venue exterior.
As guest entered the venue, they were greeted by atmosphere characters – models adorned in vintage flapper dresses with accessories like feather boas, opera gloves, cigarette holders and sequin head dresses. Passed champagne and appetizers were served for cocktail hour – with guests enjoying themselves underneath the theatre’s custom branded marquee.
Upon dinner service, guest entered the actual interior of the theatre, revealing as a surprise an elegant and lavish dining table scape. “Ornate” was definitely the key in creating the table design – layers of inspired floral centerpieces, premium chargers, luxurious flatware and decor elements.
A black base with a palette of emerald, white, and accents of metallic gold sheen were used to convey a “regal” look and feel. Long communal tables were utilized with tops of black marble – creating a intimate setting for guests to enjoy each other’s company in a “king’s table” style layout
Premium seating was used for guests – acrylic, clear ghost chairs with shag fur pillows for added comfort. Emerald green chargers, with a “peacock” pattern design and gold flatware were used – enhancing the dining experience.
Florals in a modern layout were used – a running flow of vases in different heights, sizes, and shapes – laid out strategically across the table in an elongated design. Stark vases in black with white florals – tulips, hydrangea, orchids were used for a elevated feel vs. typical centerpieces. Votives in gold were used to accent and pop against the black and white.
Flanking the dining tablescape, lounge vignettes allowed Elite to carry the palette through the entire space, with emerald green sofas and club chairs bringing a punch of color to perimeters. Impressive lighting fixtures anchored the vignettes – staccato heights of gold rods – creating a statement focal point.
The dinner itself was a plated course meal – with curation from a food consultant to give premium, elevated dishes for these VIP guests.
For entertainment, a DJ spanned vintage throwback spins on modern pop hits – remixes incorporating swing or big bang instrumentals with today’s modern hits. A performance from a cirque wheel gymnast dazzled guests – with an impressive set of movements using a cry wheel.
Immersing themselves in the times of The Great Gatsby, guests enjoyed the evening inside the historic venue – dancing as if they were The Roaring Twenties! Party on!
